The Octopus LNG floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) would be moored near Concepcion Bay and supply up to 12 million cubic metres per day via a 2.5 kilometre pipeline to the shore.
Chilean power company Australis Power is understood to be one of the players involved in the project to import LNG.
According to environmental documents filed with the Chilean agency, the $150 million project will have the capacity to handle 150,000 cubic metres.
