According to project partner Pan Pacific Petroleum, Oilex had been preparing to drill the Bazartete prospect in Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) 06-103. However, the company was unable to spud the well before the PSC’s expiry on 15 January due to a lack of rig availability.
“There are no rigs available to drill the well before the end of the initial period (15 January 2013),” Oilex had stated in November.
