Africa-focused Ophir revealed on Monday thatit was behind an approach to Premier with “an indicative proposal to merge thetwo businesses”.
“The Ophir board believed that merging the twobusinesses provided the potential to create a well-funded, re-focussed, fullcycle exploration and production company,” Ophir said.
“However, theproposal was subsequently rejected by the Premier board.
“Ophirconfirms that it is no longer considering making an offer for Premier.”
