The project's upstream operator Origin Energy is working through a number of airborne and surface tests to make sure the drilling rigs do not have any traces of asbestos and have been verified as safe.
As of Wednesday, Origin said five of the suspended drilling rigs had been tested and returned to work, while the remaining seven are expected to return to service over the coming days.
