The company spudded the well last Wednesday but requested a trading halt in its shares on the Australian Securities Exchange on Friday to allow it to prepare an announcement relating to “well control issues”.
Otto said on Tuesday that the Desco Rig 30 was drilling ahead at about 200 metres when the well began to flow high pressure water at high flow rates into a lined surface pit via a diverter valve.
