The consortium ultimately decided to use Odebrecht's drillship Norbe VIII to spud Carcara-2 on 14 December in the BM-S-8 block, partner Queiroz Galvao Exploration & Production (QGEP) said on Wednesday.
Petrobras operates and has 66% stake in the well, with Galp of Portugal on 14%, QGEP on 10% and Barra Energia on 10%.
Upstream previously reported the team planned to use two different rigs to drill the well to accomodate rig scheduling and very high reservoir pressures.
