Rafael Ramirez said via Twitter on Wednesday the project in the Junin 10 block would target production of 220,000 barrels per day, but did not elaborate on specifics.
Ramirez said Venezuelan officials were meeting with Xu Shaoshi, minister of China's development and reform commission, and working to target bilateral projects as Hugo Chavez successor Nicolas Maduro prepares for a visit to China.
