Mexico's Congress voted late last year to end the state company's 75-year monopoly on the country's oil sector. Pemex has until mid-March to decide which of its exploration assets it wants to retain, a process called Round Zero.
Once regulators sign off on that decision Pemex may move to farm out acreage or create new "associations" or joint ventures described under the reform, Pablo Medina and Ivan Cima of Wood Mackenzie told Upstream.
