Mexico's state-led oil company introduced Lozoya Austin, 37, who is also serving on Pena Nieto's transition team, via its Twitter feed.
According to a biography from the incoming administration, he has an economics degree and law degree from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo of Mexico and a master's degree in economic development from Harvard University.
His private-sector experience includes founding and directing a range of investment funds and also contributed work to the inter-American Development Bank and the Bank of Mexico.
