The Indonesian state-owned operator intends to deploy Bohai 8 to drill exploration wells, Pertamina Hulu Energi’s WMO general manager, Imron Asjhari told Upstream over a telephone conversation.
Three other jack-ups on charter with the state player – Harvey H Ward, COSLSeeker and KS Java Star – will focus on development drilling, according to Imron.
Bohai 8 is on sublet from a standing 240-day drilling charter with Calgary-based Husky Energy.
