The state-led Brazilian company did not supply pricing details but said the ships will be built with 60% local content.
“The prices presented were competitive, tracking with metrics and the established budget,” the company said.
The awards had been expected nearly a year after the company received bids.
Starnav Servicios Maritimos landed an order for four of the PSV 4500 vessels, which will be built in the Detroit shipyard in Santa Catarina state.
