The Brazilian state company said its Iara Surround-2 well confirmed a below-salt column of 526 metres in "carbonate reserves of excellent quality" at a depth of 5116 metres.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 5907 metres and oil tested at 26 degrees API.
Petrobras said Florim-2, 3-BRSA-1215-RJS, found good-quality oil of 29 degrees API in carbonate reservoirs at 5412 metres and was drilled to a total depth of 5679 metres.
