The TRBA facility located at the Bay of All Saints in Salvador has capacity of 14 million cubic metres per day of natural gas.
The unit, which brings Brazil's regasification capacity to 41 million cubic metres per day, began operating at 2:13 pm on 24 January.
The new facility brings "greater flexibilityand assurances to natural gas supplies in Brazil," Petrobras said in a statement.
