The state-led Brazilian oil company and its partners have logged a huge pre-salt net pay zone of at least 471 metres in the deepwater Santos Basin block BM-S-8.
Tests had indicated excellent porosity and permeability with oil shows of 31 degrees API, and Petrobras was reportedly studying the possibility of a drill-stem test at the prospect.
