The 180,000 barrel-per-day platform, which has been plagued with delays since it was first contracted six years ago, will be anchored in Brazil's Campos basin in 1800 metres of water.
Transit to the field is expected to take 12 days, after which the hook-up will begin to 11 producing wells and six water injection wells.
Petrobras says the 52,000-tonne unit was built with 79% local content at shipyards including the hull at Estaleiro Atlantico Sul (EAS) in Pernambuco.
