The Brazilian state-led company said on Thursday that the Chinook-5 and Cascade-6 wells produced 40,000 bpd in early March, adding a combined 28,000 bpd to prior output of 12,000 bpd.
"One well will be drilled, probably in 2014," a Petrobras spokeswoman told Upstream in response to questions.
"Studies are in place regarding the next steps."
The two fields are now producing from six wells using the BW Pioneer floating production, storage and offloading unit, which has capacity to process 80,000 barrels of oil per day and store 500,000 barrels.
