Brazilianoil giant Petrobras plans to carry out up to five extended well tests in theSantos basin pre-salt province over the next two years, as it works to gathermore data from the carbonate play ahead of commercial development of itsfields.

Speakingat a packed room during a lunch at OTC in Houston, Petrobras pre-salt executivemanager Carlos Tadeu da Costa Fraga said the EWTs are important for the companyto formulate responsible investments decisions for its future projects andcorroborate the development model of each system.

Earlierthis year Petrobras started an EWT with the Cidade de Sao Vicente floatingproduction, storage and offloading vessel at the Sapinhoa North field,currently producing about 15,000 barrels per day of oil.
