The 80,000-barrel-per-day Cidade de Itajai floating production, storage and offloading system was connected to the 9-SPS-88 well, which can produce up to 12,000 barrels per day.
Five more production wells in the post-salt shallow areas of the Santos basin are on the agenda for connection, with peak production slated to be reached in August.
It is set 210 kilometres off the coast in 275 metres of water.
