Production will be targeted at 15,000 barrels of oil per day, the Brazilian state oil company said.
It did not elaborate on an initial production rate at the 3-BRSA-788-SPS well, which lies in the BM-S-9 block about 310 kilometres off the coast.
The Cidade de Sao Paulo FPSO already started production on 5 January.
The development is awaiting the arrival of its permanent producer, the 150,000-barrel per day Cidade de Ilhabela FPSO, which is under construction in China.
