PV Drilling chief executive Pham Tien Dung said at OTC Asia in Kuala Lumpur that there are 133 drilling units under construction around the world, and that this might present an acquisition opportunity.
"We are looking to increase the number of drilling rigs in our fleet, both jack-ups and semisubs," said Pham.
A percentage of the 133 rigs that are under construction are being built by speculators, he added, and this could provide a rig acquisition opportunity if the price was right.
