The total survey will cover 3200 squarekilometres, including 1065 square kilometres over the ProvidenceResources-operated frontierexploration licence 2/14, which contains the Drombeg prospect.
Providence said it, along with partnerSosinaExploration, had agreed to licence 2250 square kilometres of datafrom Polarcus which will include the area over the Drombeg licenceand adjacent open acreage for a fixed sum.
"Thisnew survey represents the largest 3D seismic programme to beannounced for offshore Ireland so far this year,” Providencetechnical director John O'Sullivan said.
