Tusk said that his government would approve the revised draft bill within the next two weeks, Reuters reported.
"Today we understand that in order to count money from shale gas, we must first of all begin to extract it," Tusk told journalists in Warsaw.
"We need to cut down on bureaucracy concerning shale gas exploration. To encourage the exploration we have to prepare a less rigorous bill," he said.
Environment Minister Maciej Grabowski said at the same news conference he expected 30 new shale wells would be drilled this year, bringing the total to around 85 and possibly seeing the first commercial production before the year is out.
"This year, I think at least 30 wells for shale gas will be made," Grabowski said....
