Progress in January of this year paid New York-listed producer Enerplus about C$130 million ($117 million) for roughly 33,500 acres in the Julienne Creek area of north-east British Columbia, it said on Wednesday.
The largely undeveloped acreage lies "in the heart" of Progress' holdings in the northern Montney area, the company said.
Four wells have been drilled on the acreage and are currently awaiting completion.
