Australia-listed Cue said on Friday that the probe, which is being drilled by the Frigstad Offshore-managed semi-submersible Kan Tan IV in permit PMP 38160, was at a current depth of 2005 metres.

It was drilled through the Moki formation, the underlying Lower Manganui formation and into the top of the Ngatoro Group, as planned.

According to Cue, elevated gas readings and oil fluorescence was observed throughout the Moki formation.
