The well is located in the Akatara prospect and is targeting the Intra Gumai sand formation, the Upper and Lower Talangakar formations, and the Crystalline Basement. It is planned to be drilled to a true vertical depth of 1935.48 metres.
Akatara-1 was scheduled to be drilled in August last year, however, following further analysis and seismic data interpretation Ramba had decided to drill Selong-1 instead.
