The find was at well A1-129/02 in Block NC115 in the Murzuq basin in the Sahara desert, Repsol said on Monday.
The well flowed oil under tests at 513 barrels per day from the Mamuniyat formation. The oil has a quality of 39 degrees API.
This is the third of eight wells to be drilled in the block which is operated by Repsol on 40% and covers 4400 square kilometres.
