The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) said there arecurrently nine new rigs waiting in line to receive Acknowledgement ofCompliance (AoC) certificates from the agency to qualify them for work underNorway’s strictly regulated operating regime.

It puts the PSA on course for a new annual record in thenumber of AoC applications to be processed, which can take anywhere betweenthree and six months, but will also stretch the resources of the state agency,according to auditing co-ordinator Odd Rune Skilbrei.
