Bengt Lie Hansen, who originally led Statoil’s entry into the stalled Shtokman gas project off Russia, is now heading the board of newly created entity RN Nordic Oil, the Oslo-based unit of Russian state-owned Rosneft.
The company is among the list of 36 bidders competing for acreage in Norway’s 22nd licensing round in which 72 blocks are on offer in the Arctic frontier Barents Sea, with awards scheduled in the first half of next year.
