The watchdog known as FAS said it had given its approval forthe acquisitions of Geotransgaz and Urengoyskaya Gazovaya, according toReuters.
The two operators hold licences that together boast totalrecoverable reserves of about 200 billion cubic metres of gas.
As reported by Upstream in May, Rosneft agreed to acquirethe pair from Russian diamond producer Alrosa and was in the final stages ofsigning binding documents for the double buy for a combined total of about $1billion.
