Saudi Aramco will use the jack-up Bob Keller to drill at a dayrate of $177,500 from May 2014. Its previous dayrate was $127,500.
The rig will be off rate for about 60 days in the fourth quarter of next year for "customer-required equipment upgrades", Rowan said in it latest fleet status report.
Analysts were pleased with the "solid" contract, but noted that the good news was offset by increased downtime for three other jack-up rigs.
