West Kerendan-1, located within the Bangkanai production sharing contract, is being drilled by the land rig DrillCo-1 to a depth of 4250 metres.

The well is targeting the Oligocene Berai carbonate reservoir which is understood to hold mean recoverable resource potential of 330 billion cubic feet of gas.

It will also target an underlying Eocene-aged sandstone fairway in a large four-way dip closed structure known as Sungai Lahei, Salamander said.
