Samson, which currently operates the Billabong 2-13-14 well in the North Stockyard field, was in the process of cementing the well liner about a month ago when it became apparent that there was an obstruction in the wellbore, managing director Terry Barr said.
The company's Sail & Anchor 1-13-14 probe was being drilled with the same rig pad as the Billabong well, the Frontier 24, and Samson opted to fracture stimulate and flow back that well before getting to work on the Billabong workover, he said.
