Cue exploration manager David Whittam said at the Good Oil Conference in Fremantle, Western Australia on Tuesday that the gas field, located in the Sampang production sharing contract off East Java, would be shut for three weeks.
The Oyong field has been producing oil and gas since 2007. The Wortel field, also located in the Sampang PSC, started production last year and was intended to extend the economic life of the Oyong facilities.
