Sapetro will pump about 7500 barrels per day of oil from Block 1 in the Seme field for 14 years, Bloomberg reported, citing Daisy Danjuma, the company's executive vice chairman.
There was no immediate word on how the country and the company would share output.
“Benin will be seen as an oil-producing country,” Bloomberg quoted Benin energy minister Barthelemy Kassa as saying.
