The Dutch contractor is now seeking to reach a settlement with Talisman on the troubled project, which has been hit by major cost overruns due to myriad technical issues with the SBM-built MOPUstor jack-up production unit.
There has been talk that the costly unit could be scrapped, with Aker Solutions enlisted to carry out technical studies that could form the basis for an alternative facility.
