The Anglo-Dutch supermajor had been in the final stagesof a tender process for helicopter services off the UK and Norway Before theincident on 10 May and had informed Bond would be selected for work in the UKCentral North Sea.
In the wake of the ditching, caused by a gearbox failure,Shell asked Bond for assurances about its operations, which it was unable togive in the timeline required by the oil and gas operator.
