Shell said on Monday that it had sold its 8% equity interest in the Wheatstone-Iago joint venture and its 6.4% interest in the Wheatstone LNG project to Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec) for more than $1.1 billion.
Kufpec is already a joint venture partner at Wheatstone which Shell said meant there would be no affect to existing commercial arrangements at the project.
