Shell said its operated blocks reverting to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) will be SF-T-80, SF-T-82, SF-T-83 and SF-T-93, which it holds jointly with iron ore miner Vale (40% interest).

Shell said Tuesday it intends to drill its first wildcat in the SF-T-81 in the third quarter with Queiroz Galvao's QG-1 rig, with further exploration contingent on that outcome.

"This decision is based on a thorough analysis of seismic data and other technical factors involved in any exploration and production play," Shell told Upstream, without elaborating further.
