The warning by Conservative leader Erna Solberg comes as state-owned giant Statoil is cutting field investments in the face of higher costs that have eroded its profitability and has said an earlier tax hike will hit development of marginal fields and increased recovery projects.
“Reducing utilisation of reservoirs is not a viable option for cutting costs,” Solberg told a subsea conference in Oslo on Wednesday.
