The report commissioned from Deloitte by the Spanish oil & gas association ACIEP estimated the economic gain from oil & gas resources over a 34-year and 50-year lifespan under baseline, high- and low-case scenarios.
The consultancy said that at peak development around 2040, hydrocarbons’ contribution to Spain’s GDP could range between $14 billion and $125 billion.
The baseline estimate of $44 billion for 2040 would see oil & gas create 206,000 jobs.
