The Norwegian state oil company’s chief procurement officer,Jon Arnt Jacobsen, said the aim is to have the first two such heavy-duty, ultraharsh-environment units delivered from an Asian yard by the second half of2015.
The plan has been the source of some controversy, however,as Statoil has had to defend its decision that the first Cat-J rigs should beowned by Statoil and its partners in certain Norwegian production licences.
