The 7220/7-3S probe drilled by Seadrill-owned semi-submersible West Hercules struck an 86-metre gross oil column in the Sto and Nordmela formations in a Jurassic-aged reservoir as well as a 68-metre gross gas column in the Sto structure, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).

Reservoir quality in the Sto formation was said by the agency to be “very good” with about half of the oil zone in Nordmela in sandstone with “very good reservoir quality”.
