The company reported in its first quarter results that it had booked Diamond Offshore’s semi-submersible Ocean Victory to drill the Amethyst exploration prospect in Mississippi Canyon 26.
The deep-water well is due to spud in September and is anticipated to take four months to drill.
Stone announced last month that it had signed up an Ensco 8500-series semi-submersible rig to drill the Cardona and Cardona South development wells at nearby Mississippi Canyon 29.
