"This new reform initiative will facilitate significant cost savings to the oil and gas indusry," said Andrew Powell, Queensland Minister for Environment and Heritage Protection.
The state government worked in partnership with industry and APPEA to develop the new model that reduces by more than 48% to 232 the total number of conditions to be complied with, he said.
Addressing yesterday the APPEA 2014 conference, Powell said that the model reduces duplication with other regulatory requirements and reduces the numbers of plans/paper-based documents from 11 to three.
