The operator said on Monday that it had received approval from the Kurdistan Regional Government for phase one of the oil development project, which will include the drilling of three production wells and the construction of a central processing facility.
The Atrush Block, located 85 kilometres north-west of the Kurdish town of Erbil, is expected to initially produce about 30,000 barrels per day of oil.
