The Texas Railroad Commission said on Wednesday that the Lone Star State produced preliminary estimates of 1.67 million barrels of oil per day during the month, up from 1.28 million barrels in the same month a year ago.
Gas production also grew to 18.4 billion cubic feet per day.
The data are usually subsequently revised once complete production data is rolled in.
