The joint venture effectively creates a third integrated EPCIC player within the Malaysian oilfield services industry, joining SapuraKencana and the joint venture between Technip and Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering.
Through partnering McDermott, Pulau Indah-based yard operator THHE has extended its capabilities to cover the entire end-to-end EPCIC spectrum, according to company chairman Azizan Abdul Rahman.
THHE chief executive officer, Nor Badli Munawir said the Malaysian outfit is now well-positioned to bid for projects – “big or small” - within Malaysia and the larger Asia Pacific region.
