The international body which regulates Internet domains– the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) – yesterday announced almost 2000 new top level domains for which it had received applications over a five month period.
Entities that win approval for the new suffixes would administer all domain names using them, enabling them to govern how those sites were used and which groups used them.
