Three crew members were snatched from theNigerian-owned offshore support vessel Asha Deep off Bayelsa state on Wednesday,UK security maritime intelligence firm Dryad Maritime reported.
The incident about 45 miles from shore camethe day after three other crew were taken from the platform supply vessel (PSV)Prince Joseph 1 off Akwa Ibom.
The attack on the Prince Joseph 1saw thecaptain, chief engineer and Panamanian superintendent abducted, and KenJohnson, regional analyst for West Africa at Dryad, told Upstream it was likelythat senior crew were also taken from the Asha Deep –described as a 2000-tonnetug servicing oilfields and with anchor-handling and fire-fightingcapabilities.
