Minister of State said proceedings begin on Monday at the International Court of Justice in The Hague aimed at seeking an order "concerning documents belonging to Timor-Leste and seized from the office of one of (its) legal advisers".
Pereira added that the documents were seized by order of the Attorney General of Australia and relate to a range of confidential and highly sensitive matters linked to a separate legal action taken by Timor-Leste against Australia.
